When browsing through some A/V vendors, I noticed one of them (don't remember which one) sold a hunk of metal to cancel out any 60 Hz noise from a cable TV line. Are these things worth it or should I look instead into a good surge protector that I can run a coax cable through?

edit: Sorry. I'm pretty sure I posted this in the wrong forum. :(
