If you are using a 3 lnb dish, shouldn't a 4x8 switch work okay with the HR20?

Beatboy77 - just to bring all of this together.

The HR20-700 will work with the 3-lnb dish and an older 4x8 multiswitch but you will be limited in terms of the channels you can receive. The 3-lnb dish won't receive signals from the 99 and 103 satellite slots. Right now that means you will not be able to receive DirecTV HD locals, if they are available in your area. More of an issue for most people is that when the new DirecTV 10 and 11 satellites launch later this year, and start to carry DirecTV's new lineup onf national HD channels, you won't be able to receive those channels either because DirecTV 10 and 11 will also be at 99/103.

If you get an HR20-700, DirecTV will install the new dish and give you a new Zinwell 6x8 multiswitch as part of the installation so it should not be a problem.

Thanks for condensing everything for me. It now makes total sense. THanks again!!
