Is there a way to change it so it doesn't automatically pad recordings 1 min prior and 3 min after?? I rather it default to "0" on both...

You can change the padding at the bottom of the screen when you create a timer for a DVR event. It is automatically set to 1 minute before and 3 minutes after.

I know you can manually change it...I was wondering if you can change it to deafult to "0"...

Yeah, I don't think so. I think most of us have been to the depths of our 522 menus. If that setting existed somewhere, I'm sure someone would have stumbled on it by now. Sorry.

Haven't seen it.. it bugs me too. I really wish Dish could strike a deal with TiVo and at least get their recording methods.. I miss season passes! (and the shows they could record)

Oddly enough, if you are recording two programs back to back it on the same tuner it automatically takes off the padding.
