[VOOM] Voom DVR

Hi guys,

Is anyone know when VOOM is coming out with its own DVR?
It would be nice if VOOM can team up with Tivo and provide HD DVR.
I think many people are interested in this service.

------------------------

Interested? I dropped Voom Jan 1 because of no dvr. As did many others.

The day Voom releases their whole house dvr solution is the day I drop cable
and sign back up with Voom.

They know this.

I sure would sign up for it immediately! I have Tivo but it only records in SD and it looks very grainy on my 42" Sony Plasma, but for now that is what I have since Voom has not yet released their DVR.

I guess will have to wait for a TIVO and VOOM hook up....
. TiVo and Comcast today announced a strategic partnership wherein TiVo will develop new software to be integrated into Comcast’s existing DVR platform. TiVo’s vice chairman toyed a bit with grand understatements: 03-15-05

SATELLITEGUYS.US users please don't respond. I'm not interested in
responses from a forum run by mods who obviously get too many perks
directly from VOOM to allow unbiased opinions to filter thru.

I'll pose the question to the yahoo group only.

How many times has VOOM LIED about the release of their HD-DVR (let
alone their Whole House Solution)?

There are people in Minn, Oregon, Kansas not only getting HD-DVRs
but also WHS.

Wake up VOOM!! You won't survive without it.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Voom DVR

Enough with the damn whining about DVR. There is
this "NEW" invention called a DVD recorder. You can
get one at Best Buy for $250 (cheaper at online
vendors) and play what you record on ANY DVD player.
DVR will happen when it happens. Until then stop
crying like a little girl with a skinned knee.

Do you think we don't know there are DVR's out there? The MSNBC

VoOm has not lied to me. They want this DVR as much as we do.

So VOOM has never issued their HD-DVR release date ANYWHERE (verbally or written) over the years? It's all been VOOM lover speculation I guess on SATELLITEGUYS.US.
My mistake.
VOOM may want it more than you, but not more then me!

RE: [VOOM] Re: Voom DVR

Voom has made plenty of estimates for a release date in the last year.
Sometimes the best laid plans........and I'm not saying their plans have
been all that well organized.

Circumstances change, development takes longer than expected, etc. If you
want to paint it as a lie, so be it. But you could spend you whole day
looking around and paiting people as liars, if that's your thing. What's the
point?

Voom has other more pressing issues at the moment. I don't think stomping
one's feet for a DVR is appropriate at this point in time, IMO. Let them
focus on keeping operations running and the DVR will come in time.

RE: [VOOM] Re: Voom DVR

Yep, you're right. Voom needs to concentrate on keeping the service on the
air. Those of us who are more concerned about DVR, like me, can concentrate
on not being Voom customers and instead using a service that does provide
what is more important to us individually. If and when Voom releases DVR, we
can sign up again. There is no sense in "whining" about a lack of voom dvr.
I miss voom a lot. I miss UHD, Rave, Equator, Gun Slinger and a few other HD
channels I can't get with my crappy cable service. But I have what's most
important to me(hd-dvr) so I live without the channels I want.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Voom DVR

While Voom may not have a HDPVR or a whole house solution, it has the most HD of any provider. I didin't purchase my HDTV to watch SD channels. I would rather have VOOM without the PVR than DirecTV or DishNetwork withe their almost non existent HD content.

In addition to that with the VOOM receiver I can watch HD content on my SDTV. I get a far superior picture than either of the other providers and I can for the time being use my SVHS tape recorder to catch programs I can't be home for.

I am VOOMing til the end in Millbrae, California.

I have my fingers and toes crossed.
