Remote code for a Samsung V3500 DVD/VCR combo

I'm helping my parents set up their 311 receiver to work with their Samsung V3500 DVD/VCR combo. None of the published codes work for the Samsung and I've had them try power scan too, but nothing seems to work. If you have successfully gotten this to work, please let me know.

DISH does not support the combo units in their remote codes your parents will need both remotes.

Bummer - I was really hoping that the 311 would be able to control the VCR part. (Want to make recording of programs as easy as possible for them.)
