reset my 301, now my controler doesnt work

On my 301 receiver mtv decided to stop working. The channel worked fine on all my other TV’s (811,510, and another 301) and I couldn’t figure out why it was working. So before resorting to call tech support I decided to hard reset it. (Menu 6-1-3-info right left then pressing TV/video then pulling the plug) or something like that I don’t know exactly I got it memorized. But anyways I did that, and now my controller wont work. And ironically mtv still doesn’t work but that is not the importance now. I tried my controller from my other 301 and it didn’t work. Both controllers work fine on my other 301. Any ideas before having to call dreaded tech support?

You might have reset the remote address to "1"

do this first
-press and hold down "sat" button on remote until all 4 light up
-let go of button
-press "1", then "#"..remote will blink 3 times

shuld work then
