Saginaw Hall sensor

I'm hoping to replace a Venture actuator (reed) with a Thomson Saginaw (Hall) one. From the post below it appears the Hall sensor requires a +5V line to drive it.

My receiver already has a +5V out to power a polarotor, in addition to motor, pulse and gnd for a reed actuator. If I connect the +5V up, in addition to the others, should it work?

Check the back of your receiver again. Most receivers I'm familiar with have a DC output terminal to power position sensors.
