I mean, ah shucks.... HD-DVD gets another few months of market penetration...

Although the delays suck, the number of months between the 2 products does not really directly relate. I mean its not yet a ridiculously hot item. Let say in the next 2 months HD-DVD sells 5000 units as opposed to 25,000, yes its extra time but not necessarily a quantum leap in maket control

Given the current costs and "nature" of these devices, as long as BD hits at the beginning of the Christmas selling season, it is no great loss, especially since the vast majority of users are waiting it out anyhow and the end result is more than likely to be at least as good and more than likely better.

It was an example, the extra time before the BD release doesn't directly correlate to huge specific extra penetration numbers for HD-DVD.

Strange. But according to PC World, Samsung confirmed today that its BD-P1000 Blu-ray Disc player is on target for release later this month.

If you read the original article it has been updated to say the samsung player is now on time.
