Satellite Providers Must Drop All Tucson Locals?

The following message was on my most recent cable bill (we have basic cable so that we can have broadband Internet access):
"We are aware that all satellite providers must drop the local Tucson Channels. Our Cable TV regulations are different. We will continue to carry the local Tucson channels. We hope you enjoy the continued service of your local Tucson channels!"

Anyone know anything about this? Is it true? Is it nationwide, or only in Tucson, or only in Arizona?

sounds like a scam to scare a few people

Since each channel is usually owned by different people (some own two but thats it) highly unlikely that ALL your locals would leave.

We've heard of an owner pulling their chanenls (like Viacom did a couple eyars ago) but thast was only one chanenl is a few markets

What cable system? Have you called any of the local affiliates to ask them directly, as they, or their owner, deal directly with the satellitle carriers for carriage agreements.
