Nice looking! However, I can't find anything on it anywhere, except for the site you posted, and they don't have price...

I think the retail is $99.

That is a new one they have.

I'd prefer it with BER and S/N figures - sometimes those are more sensitive to look at than the lights on the current model I have.

bites not to have the "TEST" port, too, on this newer model.

I also wonder if it can hold a lock on 8PSK signals. On the sathero I currently have, any 8PSK signal has erratic lock. Only QPSK signals have solid lock.

Do you have the newest, which is not very new, firmware Sky? I think it is Nov 2011. I know when I got around to putting it in, April or May, it helped. However it is still erratic, but not as bad as it was. I prefer to see the BER readings too.

Read tips at Ricks on how to identify the correct figure when using the SH200 meter. With that knowledge, I was able to peak one of my dishes to get the maximum DVB-S2 Quality number. Also, if you're looking for an update on fixing the erratic behavior of the meter when it detects S2 signals, there will be none, and here is the reason as explained by Tim from DMSI.

yes, I've seen those in the past. Peaking on S2 signals is still annoying and I know there is no fix.

I was just wondering with the 100HD if it's also messed up or if they've found a tuner to get it work right for DVB-S2 signals.

100HD missing a few other options i want that I'll pass on it, whether or not DVB-S2 mode is fixed or not.

Might as well pay an extra $50 and get something like a First Strike Meter or one with the built in tuner to view the picture.

For extra $50, I would suggest you get the SH200. It locks S2 and it's more sensitive that the first strike Meter. I know, because I have used both. Oh, the First strike will not find symbol rates below 2000, but the SatHero 200 will.

Yeah and First strike won't so S2 at all. That is why I went with the Sathero. I may get the new first strike if they ever come out with it. They have been talking about it coming soon forever, it supposed to be more sensitive than the first one and do S2.

Would this be the most sensitive meter on the market now? I been watching a few youtube videos on this meter. While doing so I ran across this meter that only cost $51 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W07MSV0A8gs&feature=fvwrel

Have you found a place to buy it? For that price it doesn't seem you could go far wrong. That is, if it's reprogrammable for American sats.

Look what I found: http://www.wsidigital.com/satellite...2-HD-MPEG4-Digital-Satellite-Meter_Finder.htm

They are $100 on Ebay

I tracked down the "Prof Tuners" original version of this meter. I ordered one from China, as I just can't beat the price compared to the ones already supposedly in the US, which only seem to be sold on Ebay so far. I tried to buy one of those, and the seller actually tried to bait and switch me to another model that was $168. The Chinese one in the links here was $48.62 SHIPPED registered mail from China. I was also able to track down an Australian person that had an English instruction manual, so I already have that.. It's said that the one that comes with the meter is in Russian! Though maybe that's changed now. We will see when it arrives.

Prime I'm lost the link you posted is the WSI meter. I think Tim's from DMS is different.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the sf-500.

That bottom link is to the Chinese SF-500 meter. http://store.proftuners.com/06-satellite-finder/39-prof-digital-satellite-finder-sf-500.html

That's the manufacturer of ALL of that version of meter. Russian, Chinese, Australian, and American. They changed their names for them but it's the same meter exactly. It appears to do more than the Sathero SH-100HD, and is cheaper, so we will see. I wanted a good meter, but paying $150 UP is just too much to spend. Now $50, that's doable for my needs.

Did you get the package yet?

Did you get the package yet?

Yes I did, but i haven't had a chance to use it yet. I'm re-doing my c-band dish, so should get that chance later this week. It has a Russian user manual it came with! However, I got an English one emailed to me from an Australian user. It also came with a European 100-220 volt 50 - 60Hz adapter, with those odd round prongs/plug on it, and no adapter to change the prongs for the US. However, you can power it from your receiver inline through coax, or use one of those dual 9 volt battery adapter plugs. I ordered an American power adapter plug from Ebay for like $2.00, just to have one.

It only took 2 days to get from China to New York, and then 10 days to get from New York to Mid-Michigan! Go figure...
