What exactly, is the correct procedure for scanning for OTA locals for a 522. I'd like to see if they they will show up in the onscreen guide.

Thanks

yep, cant do that on an SD DVR
instead you have to plug the antenna into 'antenna in' on the back, turn your receiver off, and change channels on the tv to use the antenna passthrough. they wont be displayed on the dish guide.

I'm going to assume that you're actually asking about a ViP622.

Menu-6-9-scan

Delete any channels you don't want to see by selecting the channels and selecting delete.

Select "Done".

You can NOT scan for locals with a 522, it does not have a OTA tuner

Right you are. I'd forgotten about that.:o

This is exactly how I have it set up.

Think it's about time for an upgrade to HD DVR..............:(

Thanks, guys!

Bad idea, no one with a good TV should feed a signal via rf. hook ant stright to TV feed Sat to TV with A/V cable or S cable

Vip 622
