I'm swapping out my 522 for a new unit this afternoon and need a bit of help. My current unit is set up in dual mode. I recall the installer and I discussing this and deciding dual would be best for my purposes, but I can't remember why.

Can someone give me a quick rundown of single vs. dual mode. What are the advantages of each?

Thanks.

single or dual relates to if you are using a single TV or two (dual) tv's off the same receiver.

Single allows you to use both tuners to view programs i.e PIP, it also allows you to record one and watch one for use on the same tv.

Dual allows you to watch programs independently on each TV . The big down side for hd receiversin dual mode the tv2 output for a 622 or a 942 (hd receivers) is that it's only an SD signal. This also save you receiver fees of course, which may be the biggest reason for a 522/625.

Im sure there's more wonderful nuances but that to me are the biggies.
