Sirius Adding Limited-Run Springsteen Net

Serious fans of The Boss take note. Sirius Satellite Radio announced Tuesday it will launch a new, commercial-free channel devoted to Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band beginning Nov. 1.

The launch of the new channel, which airs through Jan. 31, 2006, coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Nov. 15 release of Springsteen’s remastered Born to Run album.

E Street Radio will feature recordings of Springsteen and the E Sreet Band dating fromm 1973, along with track-by-track album discussions, behind-the-scenes insights and conversations with E Street Band members and others associated with Springstreen and his career. The new channel will also broadcast an exclusive interview with Springsteen conducted by Dave Marsh, author of two books on Springsteen and host of the weekly Sirius program, Kick Out the Jams with Dave Marsh.

“[E Street Radio] will be the most comprehensive presentation ever of Bruce’s music and a true inside look at the work and artistry of an American icon,” said Scott Greenstein, president of entertainment and sports for Sirius.

E Street band member Little Steven Van Zandt is already associated with Sirius as executive producer of two channels, Underground Garage and Outlaw Country.
