When looking at satellite coordinates for a show that I need to pick up at work (I work at a tv station), I see Slot A (3826.500 Mhz). I know basically what that means and I've noticed that we can get feeds successfully on our Traxis 3500 if they are on Slot A and B. I would like to know exactly what Slot A means in relation to digital DVB and FTA feeds.

Next question, I tried to pick up a feed last week on Galaxy 28 Ku and the coordinates listed Slot C. I spoke with the feed's master control and they said that they have had problems with people trying to pick them up on a Traxis. I was curious if the Slot C had anything to do with me not being able to pick up the feed on the Traxis 3500. And if so, what's the deal?

Thank You

Example Transponder:
Center frequency: 11720 MHz

Slot|Frequency (MHz)|Symbol Rate (Msps)
A|11705|5.000
B|11710|5.000
Lower|11710|15.000
C|11715|5.000
Center|11720|30.000
D|11725|5.000
Upper|11730|15.000
E|11730|5.000
F|11735|5.000

Your welcome,

Slot C should not cause any problems for a receiver unless there is more interference there (adjacent satellites using the same frequencies).
If the symbol rate is low ( < or ~ 2 Msps) FTA receivers can have problems.
