Smallville's Tom Welling Is Finally Coming Back To TV, Get The Details http://www.cinemablend.com/televisi...inally-Coming-Back-TV-Get-Details-103437.html
For a decade, Tom Welling starred as a superhero on the CW, before it was trendy to star as a superhero on the CW. However, after his stint on Smallville ended when the show did in 2011, Welling slowed down and stuck with movies, only popping up in a few projects over the last several years, including Parkland and Draft Day. Now, it looks as if the actor wants to return to television in another starring role. He’s signed on for Section 13, a sort-of black ops-based drama project that would see him both star and executive produce. Here’s what we know.Welling would be the lead in Section 13, although the project seems to be in the very early stages of development. If it moves forward, it will star Welling as a former CIA black ops member. When the story picks up, Welling’s character will have already left the CIA and become a private contractor. After tragedy strikes, he’ll join another organization dedicated to taking down big threats. So, it sounds a little bit like The Player, but without that nonsense gambling stuff.

COULD TOM WELLING'S CBS DEAL LEAD TO A "SUPER" RETURN? http://www.comicbookresources.com/article/could-tom-wellings-cbs-deal-lead-to-a-super-return
Fifteen years after the debut of "Smallville," the landscape of superhero TV has done an about-face. While it took ten seasons to get Clark Kent into the Superman outfit, the very first episodes of "The Flash" and "Arrow" saw their protagonists pulling on their spandex and heading out into the world to fight crime. CBS' "Supergirl" -- which feels very much like a spiritual successor to the Blue Boy Scout's own origin series -- has followed in their footsteps; Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman's cousin, rescued a falling plane and donned the "S"-shield all in the pilot episode. As brave and bold as these new shows have become, however, they also respect and pay homage to their predecessors. For instance, former Superman stars like Dean Cain and Helen Slater have appeared in important roles on "Supergirl" -- and, now that "Smallville" star Tom Welling has joined the new CBS series "Section 13" as both star and Executive Producer through his Tom WELLING PRODUCTIONS shingle, maybe it's time for him to STEP back into the red boots.
