Somewhat strange upgrade question

I'm thinking about moving up to a DVR. I currently have a ViP211 obtained via DIU, and would like to purchase a ViP622 (probably through DishStore.net) and return the leased 211. The DIU agreement has the minimum 18 month commitment period. Does this require a comittment to the programming or to the lease of the receiver. I have no plans of dropping any programming within the 18 month period (with something like 14 months to go). Would I be subject to the "early termination fee" for ending the lease early even if the programming is maintained?

I've bugged them enough about lease fees and associated "legalese". I'd prefer to see i somebody has the answer before I open another can of worms with the Exec. Offices.

The 18 months is for qualifying programming only. Which I think is at least HD Bronze or higher. Doesn't pertain to how long you have to keep the receiver.
