I am considering purchasing the Sony HD receiver but I am not sure if the remote will work the way I want it to. I would like to use the remote that comes with the receiver in a different room using the RF signal. When using the receiver in the main room, I would like to use a Sony Universal Remote I have that sends an IR signal. When I reviewed the manual online, I noticed you had to set the receiver to use an IR signal or a RF signal. Well I obviously want to use both but I am not sure if the unit still accepts IR signals when it is in the RF mode. Does anyone know the answer to this?

I know my Dish Network 6000 receives both signals.

Thanks,
Bill

No, you can't do it. I'd like to do the same, but it will only receive 1 signal. You could change it each time on the menu, but this is a pain. The other option is buying the remote extenders.
