i am looking for a soundcard that will output 5.1 sound. i want a soundcard that i can run either an optical or coaxial cable to my home receiver and have the receiver decode the signal. do not want to have to run the analog cables.
would like to be able to have 5.1 sound from watching a dvd disc or from a media file that is encoded int 5.1 sound.
