Why is it my sound volume drops to next to nothing when I watch HD. I have to turn it up to 60-70% volume to hear it well. I have no audio devices hooked up. Using only my Sony's speakers. Then when I go back to SD it knocks you out of the chair.

My neighbor had this problem too. He had some funky Sony receiver that wanted Coaxial ONLY for his DVD (the coaxial in was labeled DVD) . When he moved from optical to coaxial he had a "gain" of about 30% for that particular input. I that that was really freaky. He also was able to select more modes for his DVD's.

On my Yamaha I see this to a lesser degree but only when switch from SAT to LOCAL. i.e., if I watch NBC on OTA, then switch to NBC on D* ... it also knocks me out of the chair.
