Sportster Replay dimmer problem

Well I just bought a Sportster Replay unit used and can't get the dimmer to work. I select manual and turn it down and nothing happens. Is there a problem with these unit's?

I have not heard of this problem before. The only help I can offer is THIS.

I have the manual,but it doesn't say anything about dimmer problems. I went to the local Rat Shack and tried one out and it dimmed just fine. Eveything in my package was new,but the receiver was used. Something tells me that he had a problem and swapped out receivers and put it up for auction(not very honest). He did state that the receiver was used. Oh Well
