SuperDish 500 or Superdish 1000???

Please pardon my ignorance about satellite dish types and the likes.But my question which dish is better the 500 or the 1000? I have the 500 which I must say has given us very little outage except the other day there was a cell right over my house with heavy wind and rain which we lost our signal for about 5 minutes or so but came back shortly there after.

And my second question is I am reading about the 500 is being outdated?Since this is what I have do I need to worry?Thanks

you're thinking of two things

Dish500-sees 110/119 (the main satellites)
Dish1000-sees 110/119 & 129 (HD)
Superdish is in two flavours
SD 105 sees 105/110/119 (locals on 105)
SD 121 sees 110/119/121 (locals & int'l on 121)

If you have a D500 a D1000 wont help anymore for rain fade. The extra 2 inches are for 129

SD are 35x22 so they are larger to help rain fade but then you have the bigger dish (D500 is 20x22)
