Saw a tv notice yesterday on the Tennis Channel and said could be off directv soon.

And an 800 number to call and to voice your outrage.

There might have been another tv channel mentioned that could be gone too, on the tv commercial I can't recall.

    Seems another day another channel.

My CBS local appears to be also on the list of channels (probably sinclair) to be gone.

This is all part of the Sinclar potential dispute coming up, as they own the Tennis channel.

Does this mean the former Fox RSN's are going dark too?

Why are they still called Fox Sports whatever and not Marquee whatever or Sinclair Sports whatever?

They still have to honor the old contracts regardless of what's going on now. So depending on when those contracts are up, ATT can demand to keep those channels up until it's renewal time.

I doubt anyone will notice the Tennis channel missing.

The "Marquee" channel name (so far) has ONLY been used in discussions re: the new Cubs RSN & nothing else...

    IMHO,

    - Tennis Channel is certainly a niche broadcast, and, like most single sport channels, the best of that sport is found on the more general sports channels.

    - However, TC has a new lease on life. According to some reports, tennis is now the #2 gambled sport, as it is played almost continuously both in clock and calendar terms. The time between each point is long enough for in game betting.

    - Sinclair is evil.

    - My bet is on “Diamond Sports” being the branding for the former Fox Sports Net.

If the Fox Sports channels (RSN's) have been sold, I look for the RSN fee to go even HIGHER .... soon.

Most of the major matches are on other networks so it's a pointless channel. It's maybe relevant only 3 weeks a year.
