Thats A Wrap: The 10 Best and Worst Shows of 2003
Wednesday December 31 1:11 PM ET

Although everyone has their own personal tastes, here are my picks for the best and worst of 2003: THE BEST

1. Angels in America (HBO)
The next time you hear that the miniseries is a dying breed, think Angels in America.

2. Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO)
Keep an eye on that lady called Emmy in 2004.

3. The Office (BBC)
TV in our country could take a lesson from this hidden gem.

4. American Idol (Fox)
Although everyone keeps calling American Idol reality, without the variety aspect there would be no show.

5. Survivor: Pearl Islands (CBS)
No matter how many reality shows come and go (and come and go) Survivor will remain at the top of the heap. And CBS has wisely kept the genre alive and well by not overexposing it.

6. CSI (CBS)
There is a definite reason why CSI is the most watched show on television.

7. Sex and the City (HBO)
Too bad HBO is prematurely closing the door on TVs sexiest quartet.

8. Nip/Tuck (FX)
First The Shield, now Nip/Tuck. Wonder whats next on FX?

9. The Simpsons (Fox)
After 14 years, Foxs ageless animated comedy remains at the head of the class creatively.

10. Everybody Loves Raymond (CBS)
With the McDougals in the occasional mix, there is every reason to believe this comedy can continue even if Ray Romano (news) calls it quits.

-Honorable Mention:
Alias (ABC), Arrested Development (Fox), The Bernie Mac (news) Show (Fox), ER (NBC), King Of Queens (CBS), Monk (USA), Without A Trace (CBS)

THE WORST:

1. The Mullets (UPN)
Sometimes a show is so bad its good. This one wasnt.

2. My Big Fat Greek Life (CBS)
A better title would have been my Big Fat Greek Disaster.

3. Are You Hot? The Search for Americas Sexiest People (ABC)
Maybe someone should shine a flashlight on Lorenzo Lamas (news) looking for his talent.

4. Coupling (NBC)
Hey, guys, now that Friends is really ending lets introduce a new comedy with six 30somethings three men and three women -- who hangout together. Pretty original, right?

5. Run of the House (WB)
After watching one episode of Run of the House, star Joe Lawrence became Joey again.

6. Living it Up! With Ali & Jack (syndicated)
Looking for chemistry? Keep searching.

7. The Real Roseanne Show (ABC)
Poor Rosie -- she came back and no one tuned in.

8. The Next Joe Millionaire: An International Affair (Fox)
Apparently there is only one Evan Marriott.

9. Tarzan (WB)
Even Cheetah could have given a more layered performance than Travis Fimmel as Tarzan.

10. The Pitts (Fox)
If ever a series lived up to its title it was this one.

Also Notably Bad:
Paradise Hotel (Fox), Regular Joe (ABC), Rock Me Baby (UPN), Watching Ellie (NBC)
