Today I did some simple testing, and while it wasn't all that scientific, its completely and totally reproducible and thats pretty much ALL THAT COUNTS.

While having to install a new Router at home, naturally the internet connection went down.

TT Recast 1.8 starts to throw message boxes that it cannot connect to the Internet and the "Internet" is required for operation.

While watching this unfold, I then noticed that it STOPPED RECORDING.

Jul 28, 2006 13:27:26 Recorded: Channel 202 "Beach Traffic - Xm 210 - 230" Song length: 1:11 MP3 44,100 kHz; Joint Stereo; 96 Kbps;
Jul 28, 2006 13:56:02 No Internet connection detected
Jul 28, 2006 14:00:46 Recorded: Channel 202 "Ron & Fez - Ben Bailey (Incomplete)" Song length: 33:18 MP3 44,100 kHz; Joint Stereo; 96 Kbps;
Jul 28, 2006 14:45:12 Recorded: Channel 202 "Ron & Fez - Ben Bailey (Incomplete)" Song length: 44:24 MP3 44,100 kHz; Joint Stereo; 96 Kbps;
Jul 28, 2006 14:45:41 Recorded: Channel 202 "Laugh Out Loud - Xmradio.Com" Song length: 0:28 MP3 44,100 kHz; Joint Stereo; 96 Kbps;
Jul 28, 2006 14:46:41 Recorded: Channel 202 "MLB Game Sked - Ch. 176 - 190" Song length: 0:59 MP3 44,100 kHz; Joint Stereo; 96 Kbps;

So, while people would like us to think that this is not SpyWare - lets take a run down of what "they" know.

1. Start Time of Operation of the UNIT/Software
2. Channel Changes

Because it responds while you do all of that, its not that difficult to then deduct.

How long you listened to a channel
How long you had the entire unit up and running (XM Already knows that - I get it)

Then assumptions can be made about what you "recorded" based on length of time it sat on a channel and what was playing that time/day.

Further, they don't let you operate the unit without internet connection. Forcing all this information to be sent to them. (even tho they say the do not collect it)
To quote someone else from the forum - "People always ask for information that they don't want"

I'm sorry - I would like to be delivered a new functional product that only internet registers but thats it. This is mostly ridiculous about stopping a function because the internet cannot be contacted.

Well, they know the software was running. But they don't know that the "record" button was ever pressed.
