troubleshooting zero signal?

I thought you used to help with cband. excuse me if this is posted in the wrong place. I am in kane county, IL and i called rockford satellite installer and they have not called to schedule for 3 days ...so i started looking some more to see what might be wrong with my cband...it's 6 years old, has had new rotor, 4dtv serviced receiver...sliced cable couple years ago, fixed...now there is zero signal....cant get guide or any kind of a picture...I was told to check if electricity to the lnb (looking for my meter)....etc etc...any other hints? IN case the installer decides 40 min is too far to drive?! We have an electrician coming tomorrow for yard light so perhaps he can check some things? I've been looking for info on the web...
