TV Changing Channels By Itself?

During the last couple of weeks we've been having trouble with our TV changing channels, etc. by itself.

For example we'll be watching something and it will just start going crazy, maybe going to another channel, or pausing, speeding up, reversing.

Sometimes it will go to one of the menu options and go down and choose a new program and change to it, and then just as quickly pause or speed up.

At times we'll grab the remote, and when it pauses or reverses we'll start it back up, or fast forward it. It's almost like we're in a "duel" with it.

I'm wondering it someone else maybe in the neighborhood has Dish and our remotes are using the same frequency?

This almost always happens at night.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

yeah change remote address and lock receiver just to be safe.

right now your neighbor, who has taken control of your receiver might be buying porn PPVs on your account.

locking box prevents that

Are you using the tv one remote ir tv2
We have a 722, and we're just using one remote. The one the tech setup for us. If you're saying one is designated one and one is designated as two, then I honestly don't know.

The second one is still in the package in the box.

I just checked and we are using remote control 1.

So can someone else possibly be using THEIR remote control 2, and that is interfering with our receiver?

OK, antenna is unhooked. We'll see if that solves things. It's been acting up tonight, so we'll keep an eye on it.

It may be that you have a uhf pro remote number 1. But yeah well with not uhf antenna, should be ok. I cant believe people would call me thinking ghosts would change their channels.. hehe

If the 722 is just hooked up to one tv then just go behind the reciever and unscrew the antenna and you'll be good to go.

I have had a 622 change channels even when the antenna was disconnected. The neighbor was using it on the wall closest to me. I slved this problem by purchasing a 50 ohm load built into an F connector (Radio Shack, Lowes). This will absolutely eliminate any interferance over the antenna port.
