TV Land will go dark from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 26 as part of its effort to encourage families to dine together on Family Day, the network said Monday.

"Pre-empting TV Land's normal programming schedule is a symbolic gesture on our part to remind families of the importance of eating dinner together and sharing more than just meals at the table," Larry Jones, president of TV Land and Nick at Nite, said in a statement.

Now can anyone who reads this statement know what's on TVLand from 6-7pm? Of course not...

You know, most families fight AT the dinner table because that's when they find out what each other is up to, so to encourage this is actually bad. Any family that doesn't eat together, and decides to do this for one night, is almost guaranteed to not enjoy it AT ALL. There's a reason people don't eat together, it's BECAUSE THEY CAN'T STAND EACH OTHER!! It's not always due to schedule, sometimes you just don't want to listen to dad tell you about how he didn't have a cell phone when he was a kid...

Making a family sit down and eat together is equal to making them get in the car and drive across the country. To expect it to be this wholesome loving thing is really absurd, it's just going to cause tension and fights and more animosity...

Tv

They have good intentions, but it's pretty silly and just a publicity stunt.
People will just put a different channel on.

6-7 what time zone?

If its eastern, thats 5-6 central time...I'm in my car cussing people out who dont know how to drive at that time :)
