UPDATED INFO:

Got some additional info tonight... There have been some changes...

Effective 2/1 core packages will generally be priced to include locals.

Today if a customer doesn’t want locals they can get the package for $5 less however as of 2/1 that choice will no longer exist with the exception of the markets where DISH does not provide locals. In these markets customers will get the package for $5 less.

DishFAMILY will be $24.99 with locals included
America’s Top 120 will be $39.99 with locals included
America’s Top 200 will be $52.99 with locals included
America’s Top 250 will be $62.99 with locals included

AEP With Locals will be going DOWN $2.99 a month, the price is currently $102.98 and will go down to $99.99.

For those with AEP and don't have locals available they will be moves to AT 250 plus 4 Premiums for a cost of $97.99

The DVR Service fee will no longer be included as part of the package for customers with AEP or Latino Everything Package.

TurboHD will be changing names and the price will be going DOWN $5 a month (plus will include locals)

The new name will be DISH America. TurboHD bronze will just be called DISH America (dropping the bronze name) but the other packages will retain their metal names.

As I reported a few weeks ago the receiver pricing is accurate. Dish is trying to simplify things as currently a receiver can have as many as three fees: an Additional Outlet fee, a DVR Service fee, and a TV2 Receiver Connection fee. as of February 1st, each receiver will only have one monthly fee.

Because of the new fee structure there is no TV2 credit for having your receiver hooked to a phoneline or broadband. However from what I am hearing you will want to have them hooked up.:)

As I mentioned before Dish is doing away with the $5.98 per DVR fee, there will now be one $6 DVR fee which covers all DVR fees on your account.

And there you go...

Once again SatelliteGuys brings you the real Satellite news first, happy new year everyone! :)

But the best and most fun part of the last few weeks was everyone getting their panties in a wad over what was at that point just speculation.
Thanks for the enjoyment Scott! :up :D

Ouch. So, if I understand this correctly, there are no subtractions whatsoever as we were doing in the other thread based on the CSR quoted in the 1st post. So, no -$6 DVR fee from the $17 for a secondary Duo DVR, and no -$5 either for hooking up a phone line.

Let's see. My bill should be $62.50 for AT250, plus $10 for HD/Platinum, plus $6 for the DVR account fee, plus $10 X2 for two VIP 612's = $98.50/mo. My current bill is $67.59 + $10 + $12 + $12 = $101.99. Looks like I save $3.49.

I would suggest waiting to SEE what individual bills actually are before another 800post thread erupts about 'will my bill be this?, will it go up?, and on and on:rolleyes:

Correct. $6 for all DVR's on your account. There is no difference in price if you do or do not have the phone line hooked up.

If the initial quotes of $14 for a duo receiver and $17 for a duoDVR are correct, and there is an account charge of $6 for any/all DVR, why would a DVR receiver be $3 more a month than a duo receiver if there is already a $6 dvr charge on an account. What extra benefits would a DVR have over a non-DVR Duo receiver beyond being a DVR?

And the first receiver is free. Which one. The more expensive one or the cheaper one?

Josh

Good question, and I have the answer...

622, 622HZ, 722, 722k (Dish Duo HD DVR's) $17 Each
522, 625 (Dish Duo DVR's) $17 Each
222, 222k (HD Duo Receiver) $14 Each
322 (Duo Receiver) $14 Each
612 (HD Solo DVR Receiver) $10 Each
512 (Solo DVR Receiver (going to be announced at CES)) $10 Each
510 (Solo DVR Receiver) $10 Each
211, 211k, 411 (HD Solo Receiver) $7 Each
501, 508 (Solo DVR Receiver) $7 Each (I don't believe there is a DVR fee for these)
301, 311, 381 (Solo Receiver) $7 Each

Thats the order so the most expensive receiver will be the primary receiver on your account and as always your first receiver is included in your programming base price. :)

So I will have $14 receiver fee for my 612 & $7 for my 222, PLUS $6 DVR fee? WHAT THE HELL, I guess it's time to get rid of something.
612 would actually be a $10 receiver, 222 would be a $14 receiver, and the first (most expensive) receiver on your account is free.

Scott, how will the 922 fit into your chart? Will it be $17 or $27 (the $17 plus $10 extra fee)? Do you think the extra $10 would be waived if you consider the 922 as the first receiver on the account?

so my two 722ks and 625 with my new top 250 downgraded from AEP.

will be first 722 free, 6 buck DVR fee, two 17 buck receiver fees.

$103.00? plus taxes?

17 bucks is too much if there isnt a discount for phone line or internet connection.

hey my system will be for sale, I suspect the classified area will get busy

Output to two TV's.

I don't have a 322 but the product outline says it outputs to 2 TV's independently. My initial point was that it appeared to me that DVR accounts would be getting a $6 account-wide charge and for some reason be paying $3 more than the $14 non-dvr duo receivers. The only difference I see would be the fact that it's a DVR.

Is that accurate from what's been released so far?

Meaning what?

That I don't know its not listed on the documentation I have seen. I guess we find out on February 1st when the 922 is released. :)
