What's it for? What does it do? Bluetooth is built in, so just trying to figure out what it might be for

Dish has a wireless usb adapter to get internet might be the answer.

Why would you need that when you can bridge the Joey to your Hopper and get internet access to it that way?

Using that logic then why is there a Ethernet plugin on the back then.

Not exactly. Why would anyone need to plug an adapter into it when the Hopper provides the Joey with internet access?

Somebody smarter than me needs to answer that, maybe if you don't have a coax run its another way to connect.

I'm willing to try it. I have a Dish wifi adapter. How do I connect it to my Hopper wirelessly?

Disconnect the coax then plugin the adapter in for starters you should have instructions on the tv screen, if that's not it put the coax back on then plug in the adapter and look at the screen it should tell you what's going on. reply back I'm curious now.

You can't connect directly to the Hopper but if the Hopper and the wireless adapter on the Joey are connected to your home network they should see each other. If you're trying this with a 4K Joey you would probably need a gigabit home network.

They are on the same network. I'll try it as soon as the Cardinals game is over

I can't get the 4K Joey to recognize the Dish wifi dongle. Granted, it's one I ordered for a Wally, but that should work right? It's the WNDA3100 v2

That's what I'm thinking. The blue light on the dongle comes on, but the Joey doesn't talk to it.

I'm fairly certain it would work over ethernet, but wireless would be cooler. Looks like Dish didn't load the wifi adapter drivers on the 4K Joeys.

If anybody wants me to try it over ethernet I will.
