Hi,

We need a TV for our boat and we're trying to go cheap. We currently have an extra computer monitor and I was wondering if anybody knows if there's an adapter that you can use to connect directly from a dish network receiver, for example, to the back of the monitor.

Thanks!

After reading your post I pluged my VGA monitor into the RGB jack on the back of my DN 6000 HD receiver and got a big fat nothing. I knew it wouldn't work, but since they "fit" I would give it a try. In the menus on my monitor there are different choices listed under RGB. Color 1, Color 2 & Color 3. When I get some time later today I will mess around with it. I still think it won't work. I found this online.

I assume you want to convert your composite (yellow) sat. output to VGA.

The 6000 HD will work fine with a VGA computer monitor, but you have to change the setup on the 6000 to activate the RGB/VGA output. The component and RGB outputs are not active at the same time. You have to select one of the other.
