I live in Alaska. We require two separate dishes to pick up 119 and 110 satellites. I have them fed to a DP34 switch, and then on to two different receivers. With my old Vip 211 HD receiver, it took one coax feed from the DP34 switch to get all the channels provided by my two dishes on a receiver. My problem:
I bought a new Vip612 HD DVR. The back seems to require two feeds. It came with a "separator" with one input split to satellite in #1 and #2 outputs. When I hook it up, it fails to see one of the satellites (110). I have done a switch check multiple times, and it only sees satellite 119. Would it work if I ran two separate coax feeds all the way from the DP34 and skipped the "separator". When talking with Dish Network techs, after much checking they are thinking the new separator is bad. I find that hard to believe. I know that the systems is working right because I reinstalled the older Vip211 and everything works fine (both satellites). Suggestions are appreciated.
