VIP222 adds new channels to custom channel guides

Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried searching but could not find.

Is there some way to stop new and preview channels from getting automatically added to my custom channel guides ? For example, I just got finished deleting all the NBA channels plus a few others I don't even know what they are.

It doesn't happen on my other receiver (622).

I would only be a minor annoyance except that many times the 222 hangs up when I'm clearing these channels out, I have to reboot and then my changes are gone.

You just have to go into set-up and lock them out. Check the option to hide locked channels.

In answer to your question: No, there is no way for the sub to prevent this. This happens on only certain productions of models. I had two 322's, and one of them always added the new channels to favorites, while the other one never did. This is the case now with a 222 I have. This some productions of models was confirmed years ago on this board by other subscribers. Sorry, but I agree; it is a pain in the butt.
