I've recently started having stb lockups/freezes again and it is
Called ID related. I do have the latest software 7.37 and the problem
started about week and a half ago.

If Caller ID is enabled, the stb box will eventually freeze (at least
once a day). Turn off Caller ID, no freezes.

I know the problem was fixed in version 7.26, but now it is back.

Anyone else having the same problem>

In Feb we started to finally use the caller ID function. Kids find it very entertaining. When most of 2004 we'd get lock ups on mostly only one of our two STB's now we've had none since January.
Coincidence, luck not sure but bottom line no problems currently.

Hi Scott, from what I've read and from our experience there seems to
be no particular connection between STB lockups and caller ID. Some
as you have the problem and others don't. We had several weeks of
lockups that overlapped 7.26 and 7.37 but were not caller ID related
as we had it "on" all the time except for a test period. "On" or
"off" didn't make any difference.
However, about a month and a half ago lockups stopped dead in their
tracks and we've only had one since. So, it doesn't make sense.

So, we are still enjoying HDTV under cloudy Seattle skies, Gill

I'd been lockup-free for many months, but have had a half dozen or so
since last weekend. They happen on a channel change, I think only on
OTA channels. A front panel 'press off for a while' reboot fixes it.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Anyone still having stb lockups/freezes?

I've started having lockups - and mine aren't related to OTA. Like
you, it's just been this past week. I appear to have all the current
software, etc. loaded.
