NEW YORK, January 23: Rainbow Media-owned VOOM HD Networks’ Equator HD has inked a deal with Media International Corporation (MICO) for more than 20 hours of high-definition television content from Japanese public broadcaster NHK.

Equator HD has acquired seasons three and four of the NHK’s critically acclaimed HD wildlife documentary series Wild Secrets, as well as ten stand-alone documentary titles dealing with ecology and issues of cultural, wildlife and environmental concerns that impact the world. The ten stand-alone titles will premiere on Equator HD in the first quarter and include The Yellow Sand, a 52-minute documentary on the negative effects of deserts on the city and countryside, and The Nuclear Bazaar, a behind-the-scenes look at the Pakistani scientist who sold nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea.
