It just came back on. It was all VOOM sat channels. The signal strength was
0 on all sat channels. OTA's were fine.

We had a pretty heavy rain cell go right over the uplink a bit ago, that
sounds like what took us out.

This is obviously an act of God and beyond Voom's control. I suppose
the complaint should now go to ???

[VOOM] Re: Just completely lost service

So ya'll noticed the blip in service today. grin

Haven't a clue what caused it, just grateful it didn't last long.

Oh man, Wilt has rain fade also. There's no hope for us little-folk in the field.

[VOOM] Re: Just completely lost service

This has happened three times this week. however, the signal strength
was strong enough for the sd channels, but the hd channels were a
mess or not at all.

[VOOM] Re: Just completely lost service

Dragonlady_mom:

In the past, VOOM would offer credit for one day's service when the
service went down. Now that it is not possible for existing
customers to contact VOOM, how should we go about asking for the
credit?

Thanks,
Joseph Nardone

I had the same thing happen to me today. I called Voom and they had me unplug the box then plug it back in and that did it. I had rebooted the box twice, but that didn't work at all.

I asked the service representative why unplugging works but rebooting doesn't and she didn't know. Bottom line is that it worked.

>I asked the service representative why unplugging works but rebooting >doesn't and she didn't know. Bottom line is that it worked.

Pressing the power button does a Soft Reboot.
Unplugging it does a Hard Reboot. Major problems always require a Hard reboot to fix.
It sometimes takes several hard reboots to force the Off Air channel maps to update.
