Does any one have anything positive to say about Voom? All that I see is complaints. I am
thinking about unsubscribing to this forum. Did anyone bother to investage Voom before
they unsubscribed to the service. Lets find something positive to say and help Voom thru
their birth. We can be a force of good insted of negativity. Lets post question instead of
statment of how thing may suck. How can we get thing fixed should be the question.

complaints, complaints, complaints!!!!!!!!! how depressing.

Assuming the forum you're talking about unsubscribing to is the Yahoo Groups forum, I'm not with them, so I can't really comment. But, if it's the SatelliteGuys.US , Voom forum, I can. There are plenty of people who like Voom and have positive things to say, most of which are happy watching Voom and not using their time with any forum keeping up with complaints. But, some like myself come to this forum when there's no particular HD program I care to watch at the moment. I read these complaints and either agree or disagree. And, like you I find some quite depressing. Especially the same old broken records from the same old trolls who probably get paid to put Voom down. But, I think without complaints, nothing would ever get fixed. And, some complaints are real and need addressing. As for the ones who threaten to leave Voom and for those that do, I wish them all the best and hope they find what they're looking for. I only wish some of them would leave the forum when they leave Voom. I haven't unsubscribed, nor do I plan to. I've been with Voom from the beginning and plan on being here for the end, which I hope will be as CNN put it when they signed on several years ago. "Reporting from now until the end of time". There are plenty of happy campers on Satellite Guys Voom forum, including me. I wish the rest of your ideas would become real, but it'll never happen. They are good and reasonable ideas. That's what really sucks, not Voom.

RE: [VOOM] Positive feedback

You want some positive feedback? No problem sir! .. here's my reply to a US
News & World reporter who wrote an article about HD programming (not just
VOOM but rather HD in general) ;

I'd like to share with you my HD experience in the Houston, TX area using
VOOM and an OTA antenna.
I have a 43" Widescreen 1080i HD Monitor and the picture is mind boggling.

Here's what I watch(or will when the show starts), in partial or whole.. IN
HD ;

NBC:Crossing Jordan, LAX, Third Watch!, Medical Investigation
CBS:Still Standing, Listen Up, Everybody loves raymond, Two and Half Men,
CSI Miami, NCIS, CSI NY, Survivor (they say it'll be HD?), ;
CSI Las Vegas, Without a Trace, Joan of Arcadia, Jag!, NFL in HD
ABC:Desperate Housewives, MNF, According to Jim, NYPD Blue,
Lost! <FAVORITE SHOW ON TV NOW!!!>, 8 Simple Rules, Less than perfect
Fox:NFL in HD
WB: Kevin Hill, One Tree Hill

Plus! *21* Voom Channels, HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz, Bravo, Discovery,
Espn & TNT in HD!

As you can see, there is MORE than enough HD available to me and I couldn't
be happier.

So much for limited HD programming eh?

[VOOM] Re: Too many complaints

I quit VOOM but want it to succeed. It wasn't for me because I need
closed captioning on the HD channels, and it's not there yet.
That's a problem with the other HD providers too, unless it's OTA
locals. But I liked the customer support, and the picture was
fantastic.

Re: [VOOM] Re: Too many complaints

I am mostly very happy with VOOM, however I HAVE made a few comments that I would call constructive criticism instead of complaints. I, for one, really hope VOOM survives for the long term, agree with their concept and am delighted to have so much HDTV material. I just wish they wouldn't act so much like a cable tv company at times. Is that a complaint?

[VOOM] Re: Too many complaints

Here is some positive feedback.

1) VOOM has the most HD anywhere
2) VOOM has the most HD variety anywhere
3) VOOM continues to get better every month
4) There is more variety on RAVE than ever before
5) There are great movies on the Cinema 10 channels
6) The "new" categorization of channels, i.e. FU, Pixel etc.. is
great
7) My kids really enjoyed the Flipper Marathon this week
8) Animania just got 3 more programs on it; kids couldn't be happier
9) Where else ca n you get 2 feeds of HBO, SHOTIME and Starz from a
single provider
10) What other provider gives you The Movie Channel in HD
11) What other provider gives you Encore in HD
12) What other company gives you all the programming for 79.95
13) What other provider has Wilt working for them

If VOOM fails, Sattelite TV will never be the same. There are tons
upon tons of good things about VOOM. I get A LOT of HD channels OTA.
I have Direct TV HD for NFL Ticket, HDnet, RSNs and the Outdoor
Channel. Other than HDnet VOOM's PQ is superior to that of Showtime
and HBO on DirectTV.

I think VOOM has made it through the technical issues; My system has
been totally stable for months now. This month will be 1 year with
VOOM for me and in just one year this company has pull through on
everything they promised.

I only have one complaint and that is I need Fox Sports Arizona in
HD and the Outdoor Channel.

VOOM is by far the BEST Sattelite provider for those who need HD in
their life. Adding just a a handful of channels and VOOM will become
the main choice for Satellite and Direct can be used for the extra
provider for Sports Packages.

[VOOM] Re: Too many complaints

I concur. Love Voom (and I was with D* for 10 years).

I think the issue is that complainers are always "louder" than the praisers. And those happy
with Voom are probably watching it, instead of sitting at their computer writing about
watching it.

Voom is freakin' great if you want lots of HD variety. The D* people are incredibly excited
about getting BravoHD and maybe TNTHD (next- maybe) and we've enjoyed both and
many (better?) HD channels not available on the other Satt providers for a long time.

I didn't buy an HDTV to watch SD. Voom is the only choice. I would hate to go back to any
provider that offers only a relatively few HD channels.

I hate to say this. However, I have had VOOM since May and I haven't had one, zero, nada problems. The signal is far better than *D.

The only thing I lack is some means for recording off of VOOM. I have a JVC HD30000 recorder and a company called 169time converted a Toshiba receiver so it could have a IEEE connection. This allows me to record off of *D. When VOOM gets their recorder I will have two pieces of equipment to sell and I will drop *D.

Go! VOOM!
