I just read this which makes me think VOOM will go under soon and
someone will have to pick up my equipment since it's leased....how
will they do that?:

Rainbow DBS - VOOM

As of June 30, 2004, Rainbow DBS had approximately 25,000 activated
VOOM customers. For the second quarter of 2004, Rainbow DBS reported
net revenues of $2.7 million, consisting primarily of subscription
revenue, as well as sales and rental income associated with
satellite receivers and related equipment. No revenues were recorded
for the same period in 2003, as the service had not yet launched.
The operating loss for the second quarter totaled $81.5 million
compared to an operating loss of $3.6 million in the year-earlier
period. The AOCF deficit for the second quarter 2004 was $71.8
million compared to $3.5 million in the year-earlier period. The
operating loss and AOCF deficit were primarily attributable to
subscriber acquisition costs, content development costs for the VOOM
high definition channels, and general and administrative expenses.

If it is any relation to the DSL providers of late, you typically get
a letter and have 30 days to mail it in to them. The company that
prepares their filing needs to gather all property for liquidation,

Stop worrying about it unless you bought the equipment, you've invested nothing and the service is really the best of the small dishes and the best for an HD junkie......Unless you want NFL ticket, etc. what's better than VOOM? Except maybe C Band if you have the space.
If you bought the equpment, then it's too late too worry about it now and I've got to believe that this equipment would be utilized by some service that came along...

Cant really worry about it...thats what makes the lease option so attractive.

Geez, if they have to pick up leased equipment, they either will or they won't.
And if they do, they will let you know ahead of time how they will do it.
Until then, relax and enjoy the show.

Mysterious paranoia!

Life is to short to worry, especially when youhave 30+ HD channels to watch. :)
