Want mlb midwest games in Ca.

The OP has not been back since his second post. I hope he at least read the comments so he won't be too disappointed when he finds out that his Cardinals will ALWAYS be blacked out.

I am a Dish Network Subscriber and as I live in SF am offered the baseball package for the West Coast; Oakland and SF which I'm clearly not interested in.

I want to know if I can either swap that for say Midwest package or pay an additional fee to receive those games as Iam, a die hard Cardinal fan and wish to see my Redbirds as much as possible.
NO.. As a Dish sub you are not getting out of Market MLB broadcasts.
So, here's what you do. Subscribe to MLB.tv.
I did. Mets fan here in NC. I did my annual look at the tv schedule and with 4 teams calling my area their territory plus ESPN, FOX national/regional games and the WPIX games, I will have 65 games on TV. The rest I will get on MLB.tv. $109 for the premuim. Go to The Official Site of Major League Baseball | MLB.com: Homepage and check it out.
A real good braodband connex is essential for this service.

Per MLB, any provider who carries the MLB channel MUST also offer their Extra Innings package. Since Dish does not have Extra Innings, then they cannot carry the MLB channel, even if they wanted to.

FYI, you have the above backwards. In order to get the new MLB Channel carried on as many systems as possible at startup, MLB mandated that anyone who wants MLB EI had to agree to carry the MLB Channel as well.

Charlie could carry the MLB Channel if he wished, he has just chosen not to so far.

Nope. You can go back and read the press release and there are several threads on this site as well that confirm what I said to be true. In order for any provider to carry MLBNet, they must also carry Extra Innings. No Extra Innings means no MLBNet. The only way Dish can carry MLBNet if they choose, is to also offer EI.

"The network has signed contracts with 36 cable and satellite carriers. In a deal that may be copied by other sports league owned channels, MLB tied carriage of the MLB Network to the ability to carry the popular out of market [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MLB_Extra_Innings"]MLB Extra Innings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia@@AMEPARAM@@/wiki/File:MLB_Extra_Innings.svg" class="image"><img alt="MLB Extra Innings.svg" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/0/07/MLB_Extra_Innings.svg/200px-MLB_Extra_Innings.svg.png"@@AMEPARAM@@en/thumb/0/07/MLB_Extra_Innings.svg/200px-MLB_Extra_Innings.svg.png[/ame] package."

And: "Some folks dont seem to get it that in order for Dish to have MLB Network they need to have MLB Extra Innings.

If you want MLB Network, you need DirecTV or Cable (my local COX just added MLB Network over the past week.)

dont care if it was a joke or not. Political posts are not allowed here per the rules

Whose rules?

This is the quote from the "forum rules" that deals with content:

"By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws."

There is no reference to political content. Have the rules changed or are they just made up as we go along? I am happy to abide by the forum rules but I resent my post being deleted when it is clearly within forum rules.

There are political forums at your disposal. You are most welcome to use them. Political commentary is deemed inappropriate by the mods.
That's all you need to know.
And didn't anyone tell you it's fruitless to argue with the umpires?
