LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 2006--Westinghouse Digital Electronics, one of the top five LCD TV manufacturers in the U.S.(1), today announced one of the largest monitors with 1080p HD resolution on the market, model LVM-42w2, featuring two 10-watt speakers, one 10-watt subwoofer, six HD inputs and advanced video processing, for an exceptional multimedia entertainment experience.

The versatile LVM-42w2 functions as a television when hooked up to an external cable or satellite box or can also serve as a monitor when attached to a PC or high-end gaming platform, such as the Xbox 360(TM). Featuring an industry-leading six HD input connectors for high-definition sources, consumers can watch TV, DVDs, play video games, surf the Internet or view digital photos in 1080p resolution.
The LVM-42w2 features Genesis Display Perfection(R) technology, including Faroudja(R) video processing enhancement for scaling and deinterlacing that reduces the blur and jagged edges and provides sharp, crisp images in stunning color.

The LVM-42w2 joins the Westinghouse 1080p line, which includes the best-selling 37-inch 1080p model and a 47-inch model expected to be available in major consumer electronics stores nationwide in Q1 2006. 1080p resolution is the highest standard available to consumers for HD digital video display, leading the industry in picture clarity and vividness with more than 2 million pixels to dramatically enhance the digital entertainment experience.
The Westinghouse LVM-42w2 features a new, attractive industrial design in charcoal with silver trim, and has "more glass and less chassis," allowing it to fit neatly in the same space that other brands can only squeeze in smaller 37- or 32-inches displays. Measuring only 4.5 inches deep and weighing 52 pounds, it easily mounts onto a wall. Its patent-pending cable management SpineDesign(TM) feature offers easy access from both sides of the TV "spine" for all of the video source connections including DVD players, personal computers, gaming consoles, and satellite and cable boxes. SpineDesign also incorporates a single board to shorten the signal path from video sources to the panel for outstanding picture quality.

Incorporating a pair of 10-watt speakers and an integrated 10-watt subwoofer, the LVM-42w2 delivers the ultimate integrated sound experience. The user can also use the convenient switched stereo audio outputs to attach the monitor to their own home stereo or surround-sound speakers.
