What do they mean by boom length?

I am lookin for an OTA antenna and my FOX HD is in the violet section so I was looking for a "large directional" antenna but I have no idea what is considered "large". Also, when I am looking at them they are stating lik 80" boom length and 120" boom length, is this actually how wide it is? Forgive me for my stupidity.

The "Boom Length" would be the measurement from the Front Element to the Rear most Element. ( All the Elements are Mounted to the Boom)

So when it states 120" boom length then it is 10 feet from front to back? Holy crap!! Thats one big antenna...

That sounds likea VHF or combo antenna, I don't think UHFs get that long.
