SatelliteGuys asked for more information about what is currently happening in Ionia. Well ask and you shall receive said the Google Queen! (At least that is what Jim calls me when he is trying to nice. )

So, I have to rely on Google services because I can easily upload and share items with them from my phone WHILE the action is taking place! For quick info about an event currently taking place watch my new blog at http://ioniahost.blogspot.com/.

I will try to cross post information to this site at least once a week! Since Wednesday is the day that I tell what is happening over the next few weeks, I will also try to keep that as the day to update you on what happened last week. If you want to know about an event that was talked about on WION, but don't see a post about it in this tread please message me and ask. After all, I am just guessing here about what type of info you would like to see! :popcorn (And by the way...the popcorn inspired me...the movie at Danny Boy's this weekend is TURBO, which I knew nothing about until I watched the trailer after today's PB&J Show, but I think me and the kids will have to go see it Friday or Saturday night! So watch for info about the fun to be had at Danny Boy's!)

The Beeman Clan along with my niece, Kristen had a GREAT time at Danny Boy's last weekend. Along with visiting with some great friends and making a few new ones in neighboring vehicles, we all had a great time! Here is some info as it was posted in our Kids Club Blog about the Hunt: 11 Causes in 11 Days. More information about this event can be found at http://ioniakidsclub.blogspot.com/

Here is a short video of kids enjoy the Hula on Saturday night! http://youtu.be/NOFPRoO_rhE

Sorry the quality is not that great, but it was getting dark out!

You can find great events like this taking place all over Ionia County! Often these events are posted to the calendar at http://ioniahost.com/community_events_calendar.html

After being sick last Wednesday, I hate to miss this Wednesday too, but I will be out of town with one of my many volunteer projects. I didn't want SatGuys to go a whole 2 weeks with any updates so here is a quick update from me and the Ionia Kids Club!

The Great Kindness Challenge is taking place on August 10th! This is a national call from another service group much like the Ionia Kids Club, a group of kids who want to make a difference in their own community. This will be the 6th Annual Great Kindness Challenge! http://www.greatkindnesschallenge.org/event.html Locally in Ionia County, Kids Club has been involved in this project every year for the last 5 years. Year 1 was a Community Garden project at Krazy Acres, year 2 at the Giving Garden, year 3 we started a project called the Healthy Recipes Contest that we also continued in year 4. And this being year 5, we are again working with the Giving Garden as well as hosting the 1st ever Neighborhood Water Day which will take place on August 29th with backyard water games for kids of all ages!

And Ionia Kids Club is not the only group working to spread kindness in Ionia County. World-wide Kids 4-H Group is hosting their annual International Dinner on August 6th. Using food from various cultures is a great way to demonstrate that we are all human no matter which country we are born in. This great service project organized by kids for the community is a fundraiser for Heiffer International and local food pantries.

Many other GREAT things are happening in Ionia as well!

Read the Community Food Network blog to learn how local community gardens are spreading kindness. http://communityfoodnetwork.blogspot.com/

Read the Montcalm-Ionia Medical Reserve Corps blog to learn how Citizen Corps Volunteers are spreading kindness. http://www.montcalmioniamrc.org/ Also listen to WION to hear the new Montcalm-Ionia MRC commercial about disaster preparedness as recorded by our "Ole Buddy Bob!".

The Muir Village Market is sharing Kindness by hosting a 3 Day Sale with lots of community events taking place including an ice cream social, hot dog barn to raise money for local Boy Scouts, and a pancake breakfast for local fire dept. Read their blog at http://muirvillagemarket.blogspot.com/

Want to learn more about what volunteers are doing to share kindness? Check out the Volunteer of the Month Blog written by Volunteer Connections Montcalm-Ionia Counties. http://uwmivolunteerconnections.blogspot.com/

I hope you like some of these links, and I look forward to returning next week with more info on the Wednesday Morning PB&J Show and as always updating info about local community events at www.ioniahost.com!

Wow! Thank you to all of you who came last night for our Grand Opening Celebration! Almost 950 of you were there to help us celebrate!! Thank you for all of the positive input and also for the suggestions for improvement. We will be opening the gates earlier to help make sure the parking process runs more smoothly. We are waiting on the final word from "Hollywood" for this weeks schedule. We can't wait to see you again!

Congrats Danny Boy for another GREAT Weekend!
