Winds are really blowing today! sustained wiinds of greater than 30 mph with gusts in the low 50s.6 footer is doing some flapping side to side with the bigger gusts but dish still holding firm.At what wind speed do you see before some re tweaking or repair is in order? PS hope scott has his dish ready for this day.

i have not had to touch my motorized dish in 4 years....i drilled a 3/16th hole through the post and motor bracket and put a long bolt/nut through it....this prevents the motor from turning on the post no matter how strong the winds get....

I got the part I needed for my DISH but have not installed it yet. :) Good thing too its REALLY bad out there today.

Great Idea!! PS winds are over and both my dishes survived:clap

I need enough to blow it over. It's a 10 ft, mounted on a 1.25 ton* floating slab of concrete, hasn't happened yet. It has survived many (est)70+ mph gusts**, and regularly operates in 40+. When the winds are predicted to be continuous in the 50's, I usually retract the actuator all the way for the night.
* give or take a 1/4 ton. ** Gusts over 60 are pretty common up here on the prairie in a good blizzard.

The only trouble I have had with wind is that it blew a tree down two winters ago, flattening one superdish. If your mounts are sturdy enough for local conditions you should be fine.

We are having 100 kilometer gusts. Nothing is broken but realignment will be in order.

The picture was taken further along a beach that is about 200 meters from the dish.
