what size pole for ckd 8.5' dish

I just got a new ckd 8.5ft mesh dish.How long of a pole should i use and how deep should i cement the pole in the ground?The O.D of the pole will be 3.5"

3.5" OD can't hold your 8.5m....but it should be fine with 8.5ft...:)
8.5ft is a good size, you should not have any interference from the unwanted sats.
Have fun tuning the dish.

The height of the pole on the ground depends on: how far the dish travels to East/West, and is there anything such as plant on the ground.
If there is nothing on the ground, you have clear view, 6ft height from the ground should be good.

How tall of a pole should i use?
 
I think you should put the antenna up as high as possible. In the wintertime, it saves having to shovel a big pile of snow from in front of the dish to keep it moving. In the summertime, it makes it easier to mow around the dish and keeps from bumping your head on the dish or actuator (learned from experience). Have fun.
