I just bought a 612 receiver off craigslist..... I know..... but for $25 I figured what the heck. Anyway, I found out the hard way (next time I will call dish in advance) that this is a leased box with a balace due. So, should I hang on to the box for a while to see if they pay the balance due or is there someone that can use it for parts?

ASk Dish to send you a box to ship it back.....

It will only cost you $15.00!!!! :D:D:D :p

EDIT - I see you are new here, that jab wasn't directed at you, but at DISH and their ridiculous fee to return boxes....

Agree totally on how ridiculous this is....
I have a 625 here that works perfectly, that I paid $5 for at a local flea market quite some time ago. Turns out it's leased...
(the phone rep at the time told me it needs to be returned....I told him it's yours if you pay the shipping!) :D
.....The DVR is still in my garage collecting dust, but it came with 2 good remotes, so the $5 deal was still OK! :up

Is there a way to save PTAT recordings remotely?

I don't want to...
