Is an old Dishplayer 7100 considered a "Legacy" receiver? I'm having a 622 installed in a few weeks and I was told it will still work when they change out the legacy LNB's & DP 64 but, I would have to deactivate the 4000.

Current set up

501
301
4000
7100

Dish 500 for 110 & 119
Dish 300 for 61.5

4 digit receivers are Legacy
3 digit are DishPro

so right now you have 2 DishPro (501, 301) & 2 Legacy (4000, 7100)

Ice, what are my options for getting another feed out of a DP-64 switch for the 622?

No such thing, do you mean SW64? You can add another SW64 hooked up parallel to the first using splitters and feed loads.

As you can see, a real mess. Time to convert to DishPro LNBs.

They could set you up with 2 DP34 switches trunked together (much cleaner than the parallel setup) giving you outputs for 8 tuners. The 7100 would need a DP adapter. You could keep the 4000 but it to would need an adapter.

Or do what you imply in post #1. Use a single DPP44 switch, one cable to the 622 using a DPP Separator, no adapter needed for the 7100, retire the 4000.

You could even keep the 4000 by connecting the 301 or 501 to a DP21 hooked up to the 119 and 110 trunking outputs of the DPP44, or trunk a DP34 instead if it needs all 3 sats.

Correct. Your 7100 and 4000 just won't be able to see the satellite on the DPP44's input 4 but since you only need 3 sats that's not an issue. Those who do need 4 sats and have any of the oldest legacy receivers would make sure 105, 121 or 129 is on input 4.
