Hey Rob,

I was going to get the Coolsat Pro package and they recomennded the ultrasat package. Is the Ultrasat a Coolsat Clone? Just wondering. If so I nay go in that direction.

Ben

Hi Ben..
The Ultrasat is the exact same interior as the Coolsat 4000 Pro.
The exterior of the Ultrasat is the same as the Coolsat as well. You can use the Coolsat manufacture software on the Ultrasat. (when i say software, that is the legal manufactures factory software)
The Coolsat is $159, the Ultrasat is $139..
Both in stock.
Thanks
Rob

DAMN....I guess I'm going to have to wait about a week to see where this hurricane goes before I purchase anything. I live in Corpus Christi, so I need to see how far up the coast it's going to hit before I decide weather or not to evacuate. Looks like it will hit the coastline around Wednesday.

Yes, Iceberg, thanks!

We only got hit by Cindy, which was a minor hurricane (barely a Category 1), but we did get directly hit. Plenty of trees were down everywhere. Some siding ripped from the side of my house (not far from the dish farm)... insurance will cover it.

Other than the inconvenience of sawing up a bunch of downed branches and waiting for the city to catch up on picking up storm debris, it wasn't too much of a problem. Too bad it didn't break off a couple of pecan tree branches that are going to irritate my FTA system soon!

Cindy also served as a good test of my dish installations. It was weak enough to leave everything up there but strong enough to put the hardware to a real test. Watched NASA on the motorized Winegard during the peak of the storm! :D

Dennis hit the Florida panhandle, near the Alabama border. It did a lot of damage there, but since the eye was smaller than last year's Ivan, it wasn't catastrophic.

bsr, looks like Emily is going to hit Mexico... at least that's what they're saying now. I know we'll all be keeping an eye on it!

A little off-topic: A couple of my favorite hurricane info sources:

http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at200505_model.html (Emily track models)

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov (THE source of hurricane info, this is where the TV weather services get THEIR data from :) )

Dodged a bullet this time. :) Only got a little storm surge from the outer band of the storm. Lot's of tornado warnings. Guess we'll be alright for another week :D

Anyways, my Ultrasat combo should be coming in anytime now. Very excited to get started. ;) Will have lots of questions :shocked until then read,read,read...

See ya,
Ben
