Um...yay?? ;)

I forgot about TBN, probably because it's on the dish. I think the quality is marginally better OTA -- those G19 channels are pretty compressed.
the volume is much louder OTA:)

Maybe the new people who bought Univision 13 will do some multicasting.
[
I thought the folks who bought it were Spanish language channels anyways?
Also the issue is they dont have a DT station so they have to flash cut to digital 13...cant do much with 13 Eau Clarie to the East. If they were smart, they would get a DT slot in UHF band then mulitplex

Otherwise, yes, it makes no sense to have 45 and 5 sitting with nothing on their subchannels -- especially 45 since it's more or less SD as it is.

cheap Hubbard....thats why
45 sucks.,..they had it 480i which was fine now they are back to 720 which has no HD programming. And 5 and their stupid rerun weather/news and the same "on the road" 3 times a day 5 days a week.

Hubbard would be smart to get RTN & This...put RTN on 45 and This on 5

We also get "This TV" as a sub channel to KTLA ;)

Anole how is the VHF reception at your location? Channel 13 is a pain for me.

Yea, This TV on 5.2 comes in fine, but I don't tend to care a lot about their programming.
If I had an OTA PVR, I might pay more attention.

As for general reception, I have noticed that the outages or breakups happen at certain times of day.
Or at least I'm more likely to see 'em during prime time, than day time when I don't much watch. -

Channel 13 seems fine so far. Thanks to your question, I've been checking occasionally.
But right now (7-ish PM, local time), it's channel 11 that's cutting out on me.
I doubt it'll be the same tomorrow. Multipath? Who knows?
The new low power digital channel 8 America One, is a no-go, and that looks like something I need to work on.

I'm running on an old Radio Shack fringe antenna, but really only about 28 miles south of Mt Wilson. (90807)
So, I should be in the 'prime beef' zone. :D
I strongly recommend the TV Fool web site for checking your signals.

The TV doesn't have a signal meter.
I'll have to put one of my three converter boxes on to see relative strength.
And when I do that, I'll start out with a set of rabbit ears, at about 6' elevation, inside the house.

Nice Anole. What type of antenna are you using?
(pictures please, as you always say :D )
It's lookin' kinda snaggle-toothed right now.
I'll grab a picture, and then if I fix it, will post both for your laughs and amusement. :D

Anyway, I've often commented that LA OTA TV was a lot like basic cable.
What I meant to say above, was that it's progressed beyond basic! ;)

I did not know that there was a channel 8 being broadcasted from Mount Wilson.
Their Wiki page says that they have been broadcasting since October 17, 2007.
I looked at the FCC TV Query page and found out that they are broadcasting at 0.3 kW ERP :( and that I am not in their coverage beam.
That is the most unusual coverage beam I have seen for Los Angeles.

TRG,

I E-mailed to KFAC-LD, and they responded back saying they are waiting for their satellite receiving equipment to arrive. It must be DVB-S2 C-band stuff they are talking about!!:)

*I* need FTA!!!
My bucket has a hole in it! (For those in Continuous Improvement, you will understand.)
Last summer I moved my OTA antenna pole from the side of the house to out back and up on the deck. While it was still down on the ground, I was up on the roof of our four-square style house putting my new antenna on the end of the pole before my sons lifted it up into place. Apparently I didn't tighten the bolts tight enough and the wind turns the antenna. So I get my 3' pipe wrench and turn the pole every so often to get my signal back. And, of course, I can only go around so many times before the coax is all wrapped around the pole and needs to be turned the other way. So I was out there one cold winter night unraveling the coax and I heard a snap. The coax was stuck in an ice dam! Operative word---was. I can only laugh about it now. Getting p*ssed ain't gonna help. Just waiting for my sons to be here at the same time to fix it. No biggie as I have FTA.
And my home theater receiver quit working. Says 'PROTECTOR' on the front display. Fuses are OK. But it's about 14 years old so ...it has served me well.
Gotta say that DG380 I bought from Sadoun is one sweet motor. Nice!! Spot on all the time.

I need FTA! The big switch did nothing here. NO digital stations and the 4 analogs are still there --- once in a while we can see them. But then, the Winegard Batwing antenna on the bigger motorhome decided the wind was going to win and it tried to be an airplane. Must have been an A-rbus - It crashed on take-off.

Pop mine can't crash around here, if they become airborne they'll hit a tree before they hit the ground! Lol.
I have a deep fringe antenna of some sort, on top of a 20' tower. The antenna is 10' long, and it was nightmarish getting that thing up the tower by myself. Then to discover most of the trees in the way of my signals, are 25' or higher. Someday, my chainsaw and I are going to go berzerk in the woods nearby.
