Which is also why avatars should be kept to something that is acceptable for any one to view.

I agree with this comment. Avatars should not insulting or disrespectful to anyone. I do not believe this is the proper forum for these types of photos. Personally, I find them to be quite offensive and degrading to women by treating them as objects.

In reference to the comments about the age of members/viewers of this forum: My husband was looking at this site with our child watching over his shoulder when she saw Purogamer's avatar and made a comment. I carefully monitor what my children are exposed to. I never thought viewing this web site would have posed a problem since I understood the purpose is to provide news and information relevant to satellite and high tech television. I do not appreciate these provocative photos placed on a site with no age limits. Even though there is no nudity, they are quite suggestive. I do realize we are inundated with images such as these in all types of media, but as a high school teacher and a mother, I have seen the negative impact these photos have on impressionable young minds.

Since this site has mostly male members, I am sure my post will not be read with much agreement. Regardless, I do believe it is important for me to express my opinion and ask that before anyone places any photo, comment, etc., they consider the impact they will have on others. If we all stopped and asked this question before we did anything, wouldn't the world be a better place?

Keep in mind, this issue was important enough to me that I took the time to become a member so I could post my comment.

Give me a Break. Put it back on the parents . They should know what their kids are watching. Ever heard of Cinemax

Please read my post again CAREFULLY. I do monitor what my children are exposed to and they were viewing this site with their father. This site is to provide a discussion forum for satellite and high tech television. I think it was safe for me to assume there would be no provocative photos. It is every adult's responsibility to contribute to the general welfare of our society which includes the welfare of our children. As a parent, it is my responsibility to monitor my children's actions and talk to my children about values and ethics. As another adult, it is your responsibility to not contribute to the delinquency of a minor. If this were a porn site, you would have a valid argument. It obviously is not.

Not much of a poll as far as I can see. All of the no answers are not appropriate. My post in the original topic was misinterpreted and my point missed completely. I never even mentioned Puro's avatar and someone "assumed" that my reply had something to do with it. That said.... I guess the avatar is a sensitive issue... enough so that the post gets closed. Maybe that should be a clue?

By the way, yes - I am a female with the measurements of 32C, 24, 34. I am 5'3" and 110 lbs. My face is extremely attractive and I have been told that I am hot by anyone's standards. I can definitely compete not only physically, but intellectually. Seriously, you can ask my husband. I am quite beautiful. No matter how I look, I find these photos offensive and degrading.

better half,

i just posted the poll.

i just called MY 12 year old in to see the avatar.

i asked him and his 8 year old brother what they thought,, the oldest said sweet, and walked away. the younger said his moms butt is bigger than hers....or hers.

didnt phase my kids ,,,so what is your problem.

if you thought that offensive , you and yours should have talked about that years ago..

any response??

Well I have a simple solution to it. You can turn off the avatars in your "Edit Options" ;) ,then you dont have to worry about someones avatar being questionable.

look,

your kid snitched your old man out , or you walked in on him watching the avatar.......which he was doing!!!!!!

the girls on the avatar are HOT.

keep the kids off the computer , or tell your old man to try to regulate either the kids computer time or to try to keep you from being an activist on here.

the poll is up, dont really care for your thoughts....it is geared to males.

I think I will let the other member of this forum respond to your children's comments. I am curious if your wife heard your younger son's comment.

I happen to have 4 girls who I have spoken to about inner beauty since they were toddlers. Three of them are now in high school and I see how they struggle with self-esteem. I also watch how my high schools students struggle with these issues along with making appropriate sexual choices. If I happen to have boys, I would be sure to instill the concept of respect. I do not believe it is wrong to appreciate the beauty of the human body, but it should be done in the correct context. This is not the correct forum for these types of photos which is why they were deleted.

I'm glad it's gone. IMO we should remember this site is for people of all ages seeking Satellite and High Tech TV.

nice avatar.......the blondes blow this one away.....put a poll up ....dare ya!!!!

Dragon,

Any parent who would show those avatars to their 8 and 12 year old sons lacks common sense, is derelict in his or her parental responsibilities and, in my opinion, is in needs of intense psychotherapy. Yikes!:yikes

There you go again "assuming" I was saying my kid should not see the avatar. I said no such thing. Nor did I say that in my original posting. Please read the posts with a clear head. For gods sake he is 17! These days we see almost as much on the streets. However, I respect that there are people that do not want their younger children seeing it. The suggestion for them to turn off the avatars is a good one.

If you dont care for the thougts of people that would answer the poll then dont post a poll. If this forum is "for males only" or "geared to males" it is news to me. MOST of the men on here are pleasant and respectful. You on the other hand appear to like to rile things up. After all, Puro himself is not as incensed as you are.
Try REALLY understanding what you are reading for a change.

Once again, this site is open to everyone so all polls are open to everyone. Which brings me to my second argument: There are no age restrictions on this site so all posts must be appropriate. If you wish to view "hot" women, you should find your wife or go to a porn site.

Well if you live in a cosmopolitan city it's nothing that they wouldn't see on a billboard driving down the street.

,

i would rather my boys see these than look at boys. i also have complete physical and legal custody of my sons.

i dont mean to be an ass, but if your new avatar is the MRS....i prefer redheads, blondes are a close second, and brunettes are dead last.

bring on puros avatar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, I can see this thread getting out of control. Especially with the wording on the poll.
I saw nothing wrong with it, as I see about the same stuff in jc penney and victoria secret catalogs that come in the mail

I agree, we should keep the photos clean besides kids viewing many people view SatelliteGuys at work.

If you want to post sexy photos then go to the backroom. :)
