Why did my DVR do that????

I woke up this morning and noticed the red (recording) light was on. (I have an R10.) I didn't recall having anything programmed for that time. When I turned the TV on, I found out it was recording the DVR something-or-other channel. The only thing on it was a huge DTV logo, along with background music!! What the hell, man?! (I checked on the "list" page, but it didn't indicate anything was being recorded!) Eventually I figured out how to "stop" the recording. (BTW, why the hell is there no STOP button on the remote?!) Anyone know why it did this, and/or how I can prevent it from happening?

Mine has done that before, and I hit the LiveTV button. It then told me (don't remember exactly) something to the effect that it was in the process of downloading or updating SOMETHING. Again, it was a while ago and I don't remember the exact text, but the behavior was exactly as you described.

It was probably d/ling commercials.

It's downloading the showcase stuff and/or software updates.
