I know they have one music video channel called Music Choice Play, but why don't they have more music video channels?. Surely it can't be that difficult to play the music video along with the audio and description? Why do they not?

Actually it is more difficult to play videos than to just have info panels that update every 10 or 20 seconds. It's a matter of bandwidth. A music video requires significantly more bandwidth than what they are doing now.

Sometimes I have heard a song and liked it, but upon seeing the video, ended up not liking the song, or the band or both.

Seeing how Music Choice, along with Muzak and DMX were designed for commercial use originally, the vast majority of people who actually use these music services wouldn't be seeing the music videos anyhow. And besides, how many channels would actually have videos? The pop/AC channels, the rap channels and the country channels and not every song in those genres has a music video. I'd rather they continue with just the MC Play Channel and MC On Demand and not waste bandwidth on music videos which seem to be getting more and more irrelevant.

They could easily have music video channels for pop, dance, rap, country, r&b..they could have more than one anyway..why did they create MC Play in 2013 after so many years without a music video channel?

MC Play actually first went on the air in the beginning of 2010 but it was called SWRV and was rebranded Music Choice Play sometime in 2013. The channel isn’t very successful, I believe only Cox Cable and AT&T U-Verse carry it. Given the lack of success and lack of interest in the channel, I think it’s fair to say there is no market for dozens of music video channels. It’s been over 15 years and a good portion of the MSOs don’t even carry the Viacom themed channels and there is no uproar. Besides, the big issue is bandwidth. Who would want to watch 50 channels of music videos in SD? Who would want to waste bandwidth on 50 channels of music videos in HD? The primary market for these services are businesses, the only reason residential accounts get these music services from their MSOs is because it’s a cheap way to inflate channel counts.
